Junior Cadet Program

× There will be no Junior Cadet classes November 21st through November 25th.

The Anaheim Police Activities League, Cops 4 Kids Junior Cadet program offers educational and physical activities for youth ages 9 through 12 while emphasizing respect, responsibility, and self-discipline. The Junior cadet program offers the following classroom topics: legal awareness, drug & gang awareness, leadership & team building activities, and homework assistance. The program includes physical fitness and military drills to improve self confidence, eating habits, self-esteem, leadership, and respect.

Objectives


1 Foster Positive Relationships between police and youth.


2 Assist in developing positive self-esteem by providing skills to help youth strive to do better in school and stay away from gangs & drugs.


3 Provide an opportunity for police, parents, schools, an community members to make a personal commitment to serve Anaheim’s youth.


2016 / 2017 Junior Cadet Schedule

All levels of Jr. Cadets (Beginner, Advance, Senior) will be taught at each location at the time indicated.

Beginner Junior Cadet Class

  • Referrals from Parents, School Officials, and for those interested in Careers in Law Enforcement.
  • Must reside in Anaheim or attend school in a school district which services Anaheim.
  • 20-Week Program includes:
    • (1) Classes held once a week after school
    • (2) 1-day Weekend Academy
    • (3) Community Service Project
  • Cost: $60.00 includes:
    • (1) Jr. Cadet T-shirt
    • (2) Jr. Cadet Sweatshirt
    • (3) Insurance
    • (4) Supplies

Beginner Junior Cadet Class

Students do not need to attend the listed schools in order to participate in the Jr. Cadet Program. Students from any school is the Orange, Anaheim City, Magnolia, Centralia, or Savannah School Districts, or any private schools in Anaheim, can attend the Jr. Cadet program at any of the listed campuses. Jr. Cadets must, however, select a “home” school where they will attend all Jr. Cadet sessions.

Advanced Junior Cadet Class

  • Successful completion of the Beginner Junior Cadet Class.
    • Referrals from Parents, School Officials, and for those interested in Careers in Law Enforcement.
    • Must reside in Anaheim or attend school in a school district which services Anaheim.

If you have the ability, please download the Jr. Cadet Application and bring the completed application with you to the parent meeting. If you do not have the ability to download the application, blank application forms will be available at each parent meeting.
